Thai massage is a 2500 year old Ayurvedic based body science developed by Buddha’s physician, Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha. This massage promotes better blood flow throughout the body using fluid stretching movements applied by the therapist. When muscles are tight, there is poor blood circulation leading to pain and tension. By improving the circulation, there is better oxygen and nutrient flow to the affected area which helps heal damaged tissue, relieve stress as well as improve range of motion and flexibility.
This massage is performed on a mat placed on the floor. The client is fully clothed in comfortable attire such as sportswear, t-shirt and shorts. Various stretches and yoga-like postures will be performed to improve muscular relaxation and deeper stretches. If there are any health issues, current or previous injuries, be sure to notify the therapist.
